Seek the Best of Health

What does it mean to seek the best of health? We can view an individual using three components; body, mind and soul. They are, of course, all interconnected and a problem in one area can and usually does affect the other areas.

The soul is the first aspect to consider by considering the positive and negative aspects. I am not talking about God or religion in this article, but such aspects as happiness, joy, peace, love, satisfaction, and good self esteem. The negative aspects would be depression, sadness, poor self esteem, unhappiness and anxiety which may include panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, isolation and a general dissatisfaction with life.

If a person has any or some of the negative soul effects, it is easy to see that there is a very good chance that this individual will probably suffer from headaches, maybe stomach upsets or other physical ailments. Plus, the soul and mind are completely interrelated. You will not perform as well on your job for instance. Chances are your personal relationships will suffer. If you are isolating yourself, obviously you won’t have a social life, and there certainly won’t be much laughter.

On the other hand if you acquire a chronic illness or are told you have a serious disease, such as cancer, the mind and soul will obviously have to make huge adjustments. Even when the illness or the cancer is very treatable it will affect what you are able to do physically. You may become fatigued most of the time or you may become very emotional. If you can reach a point or acceptance your mind will be at ease and your emotional health will improve.

There are some important things you can do to help yourself become healthier. One of the most important things is to not isolate yourself. Share your problems with a family member, best friend or a counselor if need be; holding everything inside isn’t healthy.

Eat healthy, even if you don’t have much appetite at least choose healthy food when you do eat. Don’t drink too much alcohol to drown your problems as that obviously doesn’t help in the long term and may add to your problems. Exercise is helpful mentally, as well as, physically. It is important to get enough sleep as well. Living a healthy lifestyle helps avoid and cure disease, plus you will have a better outlook concerning your health and your problems. It is worth seeking the best of health to have a happy, fulfilled life.
